Many families contact our firm when they start exploring adoption and specifically before they begin the adoption evaluation (home study process) to become educated about the process and the pitfalls. Since many birth families and prospective adoptive parents locate one another through the Internet or in another states, it is important to have your own attorney to ensure that all legal requirements are met so that you may proceed with an adoption plan and finalize your adoption as soon as possible.
Texas prohibits adoption facilitation ("matching") so we will not and cannot locate a birth family for you. However, we can serve as your guide and make recommendations on advertising and networking strategies and refer you to reputable attorneys in other states. We can also represent you here in Texas to finalize the adoption here.
"I understand the challenges facing couples who wish to adopt and as an adoptive parent myself, I especially understand the emotional toll that accompanies the process. It's the reason I am so passionate about working directly with you to answer your questions and help your adoption proceed as efficiently and expeditiously as possible. In our consultation, I will discuss the possible options that are available to you, and help you decide which approach is best for your situation. I will work with you to develop a plan for proceeding with either an adoption agency or private adoption. I will be waiting in the wings as you search for your forever family and available to advise you on any matches. Once you have found the right match for your family, I will immediately begin working to help you and the other parties involved to facilitate the necessary steps to complete the process." --Jennifer Cochran-Green
